Hall/Tobey Family Bible w/ Family Photos!

By Kathryn Hall | January 14, 2009

The following entries were found inside a Bible belonging to Erastus Gilbert Hall, born 20 May 1813, who lived in Smyrna, Chenango, New York. Erastus was the son of Luke Hall and Ruby (Pease) Hall. Erastus lived 79 years, until 5 March 1893, and is buried in West Hill Cemetery in Sherburne, Chenango County. These notes appear courtesy Mary Caliban, descendant of Erastus Gilbert Hall.

I would like to imagine that Ruby was named after Ruby (Pease) Hall, her paternal greatgrandmother.

I’m not sure if I’m a cousin. My family has been looking for it’s Hall roots for years. I am a descendant of a Seth Hall b. @1831, he stated NY on two census. He was a soldier who died shortly after returning from the war @1867 in PA. His children then went to orphan school. As an adult my gg grandmother moved to Bristol, MA. We don’t know why. Naturally I speculate she wanted to get to know her father’s family but no one really knows.

Hi, Joyce, Sorry, I don’t think there is a connection with this particular Seth Hall. Have you tried ancestry.com?
